January Special Edition
"Take the time you need and let today be what today needs to be." -Morgan Harper Nichols
To The Alipore Post fam,
I purposely didn’t try and rush this newsletter yesterday because I’m visiting family in Calcutta, and there are two sets of almond-shaped babies I adore who have been consuming all my time, energy and headspace. So I gave in to the delights of being the coolest aunt ever. (I crawled on the floor lots, and now my knees hurt. Worth it!)
I’m so excited to be working on this special newsletter for January because of a few reasons. For starters, tomorrow marks the 8th birthday of The Alipore Post, which began on the very bed I write to you from. Second, January was full of a lot of surprises (mostly pleasant), which set the tone for the coming months. I’m going to keep sharing all the good news as and when the seeds ripen and the ideas start growing into more tangible realities.
In the meantime, let me thank you with all my love, for showing up for this space. Yes, The Alipore Post is an extension of the person I was/am/becoming. But in so many beautiful ways, it has a life of its own. I don’t have to try too hard to keep this community alive and blooming. It’s become a ecosystem and garden of its own right. A creative wood wide web on the world wide web, if you may. I’d like to reiterate that if you have ever contributed any amount whatsoever to supporting this work, you will forever be in this special edition subscriber list. (Even if it’s a day or two late sometimes).

Because I know
Now: how it feels
To sip that small space
Between becoming
And being found.
