Hello!
Itβs World Poetry Day, and Iβm inviting you to write a poem a day with me through April, as part of The Alipore Post Poetry Month Challenge.
Yesterday, I announced the prompt list for the 30 days, and got such a whopping number of ayes (ππ»ββοΈ) that Iβm itching for time to pass fast and to start writing from April 1st (which also happens to be my birthday, whaaaat!). Oooh, and Iβm also curating a poem and artwork for each prompt over the 30 days, in addition to writing a poem myself.
Canβt wait to immerse and experience poetry so intensely with all of you. Goosebumps. π±βοΈ

Free Printable Prompt Journal (A4/A5)βοΈ
I was so inspired by the number of people who are going to at least try and write 30 poems next month to the prompts that I decided to make a printable journal (PDF) with a page dedicated to each dayβs prompt for you/me/us.
I personally wait for April every year to fall back in love with pen on paper and poetry. So hereβs hoping this journal makes the challenge a little more enjoyable, and easier to follow through. (Iβm printing my own copy out today!)
A few things to keep in mind π€
The idea is to show up and write a poem, for a few minutes daily, and respond to the dayβs prompt. Leave self-judgment out the door.
Write for yourself, out of a sense of play and experimentation.
Letβs treat it like an April Poets Support Group, nudging each other to write poems for 30 days.
Iβll be attempting to write 30 poems too, so I wonβt be reading othersβ poems. Itβs too hard to do both + thereβs over 150 of you writing this year (so far).
Feel free to use #thealiporepostpoetrymonth to read each otherβs poems or tag @thealiporepost in Posts/Stories. Iβll try and repost a few poems daily.
10 days to go. Whoβs in? π€
Bracing myself for Aprilβs poetry showers,

Can I join and send my poems each day?
